image003Carl Richards was born and grew up in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.  In his formative years up until about age 12, Carl struggled with a serious speech impediment.  Two years of speech therapy and a childhood dream of being on the radio helped him grow out of his stuttering problem.

After high school, Carl entered Mohawk College, where he spent two years studying the craft of Radio Broadcasting.  He achieved Dean’s Honours both years, and was presented with the ‘Andy’ or Outstanding Student Award at graduation.   His love for radio  boiled through his veins has he pounded the pavement searching for his first elusive radio gig.

His career as a broadcaster began in 1997 in Kenora, a small yet vibrant tourist town in North-western Ontario’s pristine wilderness. His love and passion for radio took him from Kenora to Fort Frances, Welland to Cornwall, and finally Kingston.

While in Cornwall, Carl stumbled on a public speaking group called Toastmasters. It was there Carl learned that, even though he was a broadcaster, he had a lot to learn about communication and leadership. Through Toastmasters he’s held many leadership roles, including Area Governor, Division Governor and served his home club in various club officer roles. He’s led workshops and seminars, served on conference committees, as well as organized and executed events of the highest standard.

Carl enjoys coaching individuals through the core competency of communication, while helping the achieve self confidence. A professional Speaker, Carl is dedicated to dazzling his audiences with his messages of education and inspiration.
